Carlyn Messinger joined Hive International in April 2021 as Alumni Coordinator for the U.S. Department of State’s International Law Enforcement Academy in Roswell, New Mexico. In this capacity, she manages strategic engagement efforts that strengthen a network of law enforcement professionals from more than 100 countries. 

Prior to joining Hive International, Carlyn worked as a contractor supporting the Office of Alumni Affairs within the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and as an editorial project manager for private-sector clients in Paris, France. During her time at the State Department, Carlyn was charged with updating information about prominent alumni of exchange programs, and discovered that in 2017, one in three world leaders was an alumnus of a U.S. government-sponsored exchange program. 

Carlyn holds a BA with honors in international studies from American University, a master's in international public management from Sciences Po’s Paris School of International Affairs and an MSc with merit in international relations from the London School of Economics. At each institution, her focus was public diplomacy. She speaks Spanish and French.
