Mr. James Dempsey is a highly experienced law enforcement professional with over 37 years of law enforcement experience including 22 years as a Special Agent with the FBI which includes 16 years as an FBI Supervisory Special Agent and Program Manager. He led multiple teams with subordinate managers, in numerous programs in field offices, FBI Headquarters, and overseas locations. Prior to the FBI, Mr. Dempsey served as a Newport News police officer and a Virginia State Trooper.
Mr. Dempsey’s expertise includes management of complex criminal, counter-terrorism, and national security investigations using sophisticated investigative, analytical, technical, and human sources to resolve complex matters, including domestic and international criminal and terrorist organizations. He has proven experience and success in training and building relationships with domestic and international law enforcement, military, and local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies through his positions as special agent, field office, headquarters and overseas supervisory agent including Legal Attaché in Kabul, Afghanistan, and Bridgetown, Barbados.
Mr. Dempsey currently serves as Hive’s Senior Law Enforcement Advisor for the Eastern Caribbean where he provides capacity building assistance to Caribbean law enforcement agencies and Offices of the Director of Public Prosecutions through mentoring, training, and utilization of U.S. and foreign resources. He collaborates with regional law enforcement leadership to build partner capacity to conduct complex criminal investigations, introduce advanced investigation techniques, identify and facilitate forensic lab capabilities, and promote inter-island relationships. He has developed longstanding and trusted relationships with U.S. Embassy executives and Caribbean and U.S. senior law enforcement and government executives throughout the region.
