Saumya Sampath serves as a Project Manager at Hive International, LLC, overseeing Hive’s design, monitoring, and evaluation work for the U.S. Department of State and provides invaluable support to the business development and program management teams. Ms. Sampath has a diverse range of experience within international security and public policy.
Prior to Hive, she served as a Research Fellow at the U.S. Department of Defense Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in Hawaii, where she authored academic papers and articles focused on security in South Asia and West Asia and contributed to the development and execution of a Comprehensive Security Cooperation course for senior military officers. Saumya also served as a Research Assistant at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) in Israel, where she created and implemented cyber-terrorism simulations for executive trainings and conducted open-source research on Right-Wing Extremism and Jihad as part of a European Union-funded initiative.
From 2018-2020, Ms. Sampath served as a Research Associate at the University of Oxford’s India Centre for Experimental Social Sciences, where she was involved in designing and executing experimental qualitative and quantitative research projects focused on the study of nationalism and inter-ethnic cooperation in India. Her work at the Centre was also instrumental in the creation of the Indian government’s first behavioral sciences unit and helped train government officers in the state of Punjab on the application of behavioral sciences in shaping public policies.
Saumya received a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, with a focus on International Security Studies and a Bachelor’s degree with a focus on International Affairs and Digital Marketing from FLAME University, in India.
